We took a small trip down to Port Melbourne from the Melbourne CBD. It was picturesque and easy to get to.
Rock Paper Scissors cafe is minimalist; the cafe is industrial sheek and bare, which makes it seem open and lets in the light. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, pausing to chat with patrons and offer a personal touch. The cafe seems welcoming to those with small children, and those with dogs, as the seating spills out onto the sidewalk.
I got an iced coffee, which was so fragrant and strong- exactly what you want in an iced coffee. Good start.
We were there for brunch. My partner had the Buttermilk pancakes, which were so beautifully served with little flowers and shaved honeycomb. It was just like a dessert, but for breakfast, and not as sacchrine. It was perfectly light and fluffy, and left us feeling reasonably virtuous.
I chose the Corn fritters with bacon, avocado and balsamic glaze. It was so delicious, a good portion and so flavoursome. I wanted more, but that would’ve been greedy.
Next time I’m in Port Melbourne, I’ll be back.
